About me
Recently retired intelligent professional. Divorced 30 years ago with two children grown and living independently.
I am fit and have good lifestyle (eat healthy, rarely drink, stopped smoking 14 years ago but i do vape, run or long walk most days). I plan on the assumption of having 15 to 25 years to enjoy retirement. I enjoy playing musical instruments, writing software, reading, jogging and long walks. I like a quiet beach, not a noisy bar.
At age 54, I wanted to move to Asia and probably have new family. I visited Thailand and Philippines 10 or 12 times 2008-2015. (Vietnam and Cambodia are also interesting for me.) I had some heartbreak, and didn't find a life partner. From 2015 I was looking after aged mother, then covid, then death of brother hit hard.
Now I can visit Asia again, but at 72 i am thinking more of non-romantic friends, and ultimately being in UK for old age health care. From experience I would not get too attached online again. Think of me as uncle/brother rather than boyfriend. I do like to understand the shape and economies of living in different places.
If I'm chatting to one person, I probably won't reply to others. If I'm talking to you, you have my attention. I may be boring but i wont be rude.
About you
I'm open minded, but if you are just looking for someone to support your extended family and neighbours, build grand house on your family lot, invest in store / cafe / delivery business etc., look elsewhere.
