I chatted with a girl.
We talked about her province in the Philippines and I joked/apologized about giving her a nosebleed from all my English.

She asked me if I visited Philippines. I said many times.,😁
So I joke with her and ask her how many times she visited Philippines...

She got angry ⛈️ saying : You know I live in the Philippines! You did not pay attention to what I am writing?

We had a communication breakdown🫣 and she accused me of some other negative things 💣 💥,
I tried to explain my joke, but she said :
. Save the jokes until we get to know one another !!!

The conversation was all downhill after that.😵 even though i tried explaining i was just trying to make her laugh.

Soo...please let us be patient and understanding with each other first... I'm not here to spread anger or hurt....

I chatted with a girl.
Her replies were nice but short. Is it because her English is not good? I'm not sure.

So that makes it my job to keep the conversation moving, and I'm happy to do so. All is friendly.

I'm interested in her, and her life so I ask easy questions to try and find something we have in common. She went to Japan, so I'm thrilled she was able to go, so I ask how she got there. Then she...

...attacks me, saying :
I went there by plane! I didn't do all my travel at same time! Why are you asking!!? Are you planning to go with me on next travel!!? No right!!!?

Lesson to learn ->
My questions are simple for non-English speakers, but are Filipina girls sensitive to interest in their life?
What would be the right balance of questions to ask without offending?
When there is not enough communication, how can you find the right balance?


I always felt if you show you are being nice, then it will help prevent miscommunication/anger. But my simple question got an angry response...

BTW, her angry response showed me her English was not bad at all...heh heh....

Some say communication is 25% what you say, and 75% non verbal. So the 75% of communication intention is missing during chat here in DIA.

If we were face to face in 1st story, she would have heard from the tone of my voice🎶 and seen on my face😁👼 that i was kidding. And just trying to make her laugh at my silliness.☺️

But if course this is chat, so all she saw was the 25%. The words only. And did not see the 75%.
