I’m a Japanese person who has been captivated by the kindness and beauty of Chiang Mai, Thailand, and am staying here long-term. I then met the ethnic minorities of northern Thailand and was drawn to the beauty of their traditional clothing, making it my life’s work to paint pictures with ethnic minorities as my motif—just as Van Gogh encountered southern France and Gauguin encountered Tahiti.
