I'm loyal, caring, (reasonably) intelligent, knowledgeable about a number of things (many obscure...but still), adventurous, and loving with the right person. I'm employed and like what I do--which includes writing and teaching. I'm divorced, with grown kids who all have graduated college and work good jobs. My hobbies make for a weird mix: running (2-3 miles/2-3 times per week), martial arts (20+years), basketball...and then romantic comedies, 19th century British lit (Austen, the Brontes, Byron, Hopkins, Keats, Thackeray, etc.), modern poetry (reading and writing it), the Japanese language, hiking and long walks with somebody special. I've traveled a lot, including living in five countries and five states, and I'm used to both big cities (New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Phoenix, etc.) and small towns (Pohnpei, Safford, etc.). Note that I'm retiring this May, after which I'm planning to visit the Philippines...tickets bought for May 30 to June 15. And if I like it, I'll stay. Please write me if you're interested!
