About me
I’m a province girl from the Bicol region. Life growing up was really simple and tough. We used to collect firewood from the forest just to cook. Most days, we only had crops to eat—and whenever we had eggs on the table, that already felt like a lucky day for me. Those experiences taught me how to be strong, grateful, and grounded.
Because of the hardship we faced, my mom moved to the city hoping for a better future. That’s where she met a man—my stepfather. I thought life might get easier, but instead, it became more painful. At 12 years old, I had to run away from home to protect myself from a traumatic situation. I ended up sleeping on the streets and living on my own.
Even though I was still a kid, I worked hard and studied at the same time. I faced anxiety and depression along the way, but I never stopped pushing forward. Eventually, I was able to rent a small apartment—not much, and I don’t own anything—but it gave me a place to breathe. When I got that small space, I brought my mom to live with me too. She's older now and no longer working, so I do my best to take care of her.
Now, we live together and I work in the city. Life is still not easy, and I’m still trying to improve things little by little. I don’t have a fancy lifestyle, I don’t have my own house, and I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not. But what I do have is a kind heart, a strong spirit, and the will to keep going no matter what.
