About me

Hi, I’m [Dexie]—and I’m a trans person. For a long time, I felt like I was living in a story that didn’t quite fit me, like wearing clothes that were stitched for someone else. Growing up, I didn’t have the words to name what I was feeling, but I knew deep down that the way the world saw me didn’t match who I knew I was.

Coming out was one of the scariest and most brave things I’ve ever done. There were moments of doubt, fear of not being accepted, and worry that I’d lose people I loved. But there were also moments of incredible hope—finding community, meeting other trans folks who understood, and slowly starting to see myself reflected back in the world in ways that felt true.

Today, I’m still on my journey. Some days are hard—navigating systems that weren’t built for people like me, or dealing with ignorance and prejudice. But most days, I’m grateful. Grateful for the people who stood by me, for the strength I found in myself, and for the chance to live as the person I was always meant to be.

Being trans isn’t just one part of who I am—it’s woven into every part of my story. It’s given me a deep sense of empathy, a love for authenticity, and a commitment to standing up for others who might be feeling as lost as I once did. I’m not just “a trans person”—I’m a friend, a [your hobby/passion, e.g., artist, teacher, hiker], someone who laughs too loud at bad jokes, and someone who’s still learning and growing every day.

I share this not because being trans is my whole identity, but because it’s a part of me that matters—and I’m proud to be me.
